You eventually may find a Lampi 6 near you here: https://www.facebook.com/LampizatOr-BIG-7-tube-rollers-group-1527145964228079/?fref=tsAlternatively you may test that type of design on a AN DAC. There are so many levels, with so many prices, most lik...

Paul S,I usually do not compare source components (or amplifiers or cables or etc.) in this fashion, DAC vs DAC, CDT vs CDT etc. unless I feel two (or more) of then (may) be too similar, like Lampizator and AN UK DACs I like. I prefer to focus integr...

Hi,It is not about bit-perfect thing but a practical one.The Mopidy is just a server like MPD however it is being made to support plugins. I did not dig into it yet and I do not know the plugins currently available but Spotify and Soundcloud what are...

Amir,R2R Discrete, means it uses the good "old" resistor ladder instead of a DAC chip. There is more info here. But you can find more around the internet.Cheers....
For the record, and wide talking, the LampizatOr sound is on the same boat of Audio Note (UK).
Ear dac4 is not so transparent and it's volume control should be removed in my idea.I guess Audionote is good but it's sound is...

Amir,Do you like LampzatOr? You can ever ask them for custom made one, hardware and/or voicing. So you will have with something sounding (exactly?) how you want it to sound.IMO, custom made always bring the best result....

I don't know a lot (ever they HQ being in my city) but they had togheter (plus Lampizator) also in Munich this year. Seems Audiopax had a new amplifier there and the report from who had there was good - which not say too much. There are a interview o...

What I find interesting about this Lampizator is that he
does not take sides over DSD vs PCM debate. Some folks do not touch the DSD and
stay strictly in PCM word. Some go all the way along with DSD, x- DSD or whatever
was sold for them annually. ...

I briefly listened to this DAC but with a balanced stage using 101D at Fikus location in his listening room (we were testing an anti-vibrational platform I and my partner have designed). The system was a complete unknown to me (Lampoizator own amps o...

Paul, Thanks!Yes, I had got the Romy point. I am just too obstinate to get that thing done but indeed I am still considerate a standard system as start point too. My problem with that, buy a standard one before, were I always try to avoid to have to ...

I was poking around like a dope when I noticed that Lampizator now makes some kind of DAC that "sells for" almost $20k. Then I saw that this is a "growing trend". Will someone please tell me what people do with these very expensive DACs? Sure, I ha...

I think that any line level tube stage can be every much of an expressive tool as any other device in the chain. I am also not sure that the biggest difference between digital and analog is the sampling process. How "transparent" is a cutting lathe or...

I am no expert on digital although I certainly read a lot on DSD and DVD-A back in the day. However, once you use the standard D/A chip as lampizator acknowledges, you are at the point of a tweaker for the rest. It is like a speaker manufacturer who ...

I just stumbled across this, did not read the roll-out report yet, and I am not shopping for digital options, but maybe someone else would be excited about this product from the Lampizator:

I do not know what Game Changer is in context of the guy who
wrote it. He is compiling for audio shopper the "short list of products to
consider for the next audio component you buy", in the best traditions of industry-estimable
but boring and pre...

de charlus - I used a few of these Behringer boxes and the level of features is staggering. However, in my experience with the Ultra box, sound quality was significantly reduced in "bypass" mode, reduced further when employed as a DAC, and reduce...
Maybe transparent is not what
we are after?
This is a valid point. Generally if we are taking about “author”
products then it is very hard to predict anything by looking at the ingredients
but rather we need to look...

I went to THE Show again this year, along with a couple of audio friends. This year I was better prepared, with preconceived notions about what I wanted to see/hear, and where to find that gear. I did not try to “cover” the show, at all. I just wa...

lower audio expectations seemed to be, even lower than last year. It seemed
like it’s sunk to the poin...
